AHDRA 2007 SEASON OPENER SET FOR MARCH 2nd-4th AT GAINESVILLE RACEWAY
FRIDAY NIGHT QUALIFYING ADDED TO THE SCHEDULE
Winston-Salem, NC, January 12, 2007 - The All Harley Drag Racing Association (AHDRA) will take the track for the 2007 season opener on March 2nd, 3rd and 4th in Gainesville, FL.
After a huge finish to the 2006 season in Las Vegas with a record number of bike entries, AHDRA President, Craig Tharpe expects the opener in Gainesville to draw those same numbers or even more as riders anxiously await that first quarter-mile pass of the year.
With the participation rapidly growing, AHDRA has expanded the race schedule for the Screamin' Eagle Bike Week Nationals presented by Gainesville Harley-Davidson with a full round of qualifying on Friday evening.
Riders in all classes will take the track Friday, March 2nd at 5:00pm for the opening round of qualifying. Saturday, two qualifying sessions will be held - beginning at 9:00am. Sunday, eliminations will begin at 9:00am for Sportsman classes and 12:30pm for the Pro classes.
Fans can expect to see plenty of action at Gainesville Raceway with sixteen classes of competition that includes the ground shaking thunder of Screamin' Eagle Top Fuel Nitro Harleys blazing the track at over 200 miles-per-hour in just six seconds, along with modified gas bikes, street bikes and more.
With the addition of Friday night qualifying, returning sponsor, Gainesville Harley-Davidson will host the AHDRA Nitro party at the track on Friday from 4:00-9:00pm. Gainesville Harley-Davidson will be on hand at Gainesville Raceway with food, beverages, music and plenty of fun to kick off the weekend of racing.
Special admission is available for Friday night racing and Nitro party by visiting the Gainesville Harley-Davidson dealership located at 4125 NW 97th Blvd. Fans can stop in and pick up coupons for free admission on Friday and can also purchase discounted tickets for Saturday and Sunday racing.
Admission prices for the Screamin' Eagle Bike Week Nationals are $50 for the weekend or $30 for a single-day pass. H.O.G. members receive a $5 discount at the gate; children 11 and under are admitted free; and students presenting a college I.D. at the gate receive $5 off the admission price. Also, AHDRA will continue to offer free admission for active and reserve military personnel.
