AHDRA RETURNS TO ACTION AT THE SCREAMIN' EAGLE BIKE WEEK NATIONALS PRESENTED BY GAINESVILLE HARLEY-DAVIDSON, MARCH 5TH & 6TH, GAINESVILLE RACEWAY
WINSTON-SALEM, NC, January 17, 2004 - The All Harley Drag Racing Association (AHDRA) is nearing its 2005 season kickoff at Gainesville Raceway on March 5th and 6th.
The Screamin' Eagle Performance Parts Bike Week Nationals Presented by Gainesville Harley-Davidson host one of the largest fields of Harley drag racers in the United States, including over forty nitro-powered, fire-breathing machines that travel down the quarter mile at over 200 miles per hour. A total of fifteen classes of competition are offered at the two-day event.
AHDRA enters its 28th year in drag racing in 2005. Craig Tharpe, AHDRA's president, says he anticipates it being the best year yet.
AHDRA Championship Series sponsor Screamin' Eagle Performance Parts is back in the title-supporting role in Gainesville, with Gainesville Harley-Davidson returning as the presenting sponsor for the third consecutive year.
Fans can celebrate the racing weekend early at the AHDRA Nitro Party on Friday, March 4th, at Gainesville Harley-Davidson from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Catch an early preview of the race bikes and enjoy live entertainment, food, discount tickets, and more! The dealership is located at 4125 N.W. 97th Blvd..
On Saturday, racing gets under way at Gainesville Raceway with qualifying at 9:00 a.m. The sportsman eliminations begin on Sunday at 9:00 a.m., followed by the Pros at 12:30 p.m.
Gates open both days at 8:00 a.m.
Admission prices are $40 for the weekend or $25 for a single-day pass. H.O.G. members receive a $5 discount at the gate; children 11 and under are admitted free; and students presenting a college I.D. at the gate receive $5 off the admission price. Also, AHDRA proudly offers free admission for active military and reserve personnel.
