Bradenton Motorsports Park to host inaugural “FLORIDA HARLEY-DAVIDSON DEALER BIKE WEEK NATIONALS presented by Screamin’ Eagle Performance Parts”

Winston-Salem, N.C., January 18, 2002-
AHDRA announced today a partnership with the Florida Harley-Davidson Dealer Association and Screamin’ Eagle Performance Parts that will open up the 2002 season at Bradenton Motorsports Park.

In conjunction with Daytona’s famed “Bike Week” and Orlando Bike Week, the “Florida Dealer Association Bike Week Nationals presented by Screamin’ Eagle Performance Parts” will get underway on March 2nd and 3rd, marking it a first Saturday and Sunday appearance for AHDRA’s Florida event.

AHDRA’s Craig Tharpe reports the sanction is excited to have Bradenton Motorsports Park host this year’s season opener. “Although located 2 hours from Daytona, we feel by coming in on the opening weekend of Bike Week, fans can start their week off with the excitement of 200 mph nitro action before heading to the Daytona/Orlando area.” The Bradenton track was not selected merely for the Bike Week draw, Tharpe added.  They have a local fan base of their own”.

“Making the event even more attractive, is the support we have obtained from the Florida Harley-Davidson Dealer Association. By having each dealer in Florida participate, we will reach markets that were left untapped in past years. Scott Fischer, president of the Florida Dealer Association has been a great asset in getting this year’s marketing plan underway, and we look forward to working with each and every dealership in the Florida area”.

The “Florida Harley-Davidson Dealer Association Bike Week Nationals presented by Screamin’ Eagle Performance Parts” will get underway with a Test and Tune session on Friday, March 1, giving competitors a chance to dust off their machines and fine the right tune before Saturday’s qualifying. Spectators are welcome to attend the Test and Tune session for a special rate.

Saturday qualifying will begin at 10:30am and Sunday’s eliminations will get underway at 12:30pm.

Admission is $35 for the weekend, $20 Saturday and $25 Sunday. AHDRA offers a $5 discount for H.O.G. members and children under 12 are admitted free. Camping is available. Advanced ticket sales will be available at the Florida Harley-Davidson dealerships.  Details are forthcoming.
