WINSTON-SALEM, NC, June 4, 2004 - AHDRA's Screamin' Eagle Performance Parts Championship Series continues with another
East Coast stop on June 12th and 13th at Norwalk Raceway Park in Norwalk, OH.
The Roeder Harley-Davidson Buckeye Nationals presented by Drag Specialties ranks high in popularity with both racers and fans, with plenty of activity from Roeder Harley-Davidson's North Coast Thunder Rally and a first-class race track, courtesy of Bill Bader Jr. and the Norwalk Raceway staff.
Steve Stordeur of Goshen, OH made monumental marks at Norwalk Raceway in 2001 as "first in the 30's" on his Screamin' Eagle Nitro Harley, owned by Johnny Mancuso. Stordeur brought a roaring crowd to its feet with a 6.389 blast in the quarter-mile - and although he improved those numbers in Indy in 2003, he still owns the eighth-mile record set at Norwalk Raceway at 4.159.
Mark Conner of Canyon Lake, TX, landed in the record books via Norwalk Raceway when he set the quarter-mile mark of 6.632 and 4.310 in the eighth in 2003. Those records remain intact in the JIMS Pro Fuel category.
Several more records followed Stordeur's 2001 run. So with that said, this year's Roeder Harley-Davidson Buckeye Nationals presented by Drag Specialties could easily evolve into another one for the record books.
The pre-race excitement begins on Friday at the Roeder Harley-Davidson AHDRA Kick Start party, 5:00-9:00 p.m., with AHDRA race bikes, a live band, Hot Rod & Bike Cruise-In, food, vendors, and the Ball of Steel stunt team. It all takes place at the Roeder Harley-Davidson Sandusky location.
The action gets under way Saturday at Norwalk Raceway Park with qualifying at 9:00 a.m. On Sunday, Sportsman eliminations begin at 9:00 a.m., and the Pros take the track at 12:30 p.m.
