AHDRA MAKES TEXAS DEBUT AT THE AMERICAN IRONHORSE LONESTAR NITRO NATIONALS PRESENTED BY BUSCH BEER, JUNE 21ST AND 22ND, TEXAS MOTORPLEX IN ENNIS, TX

WINSTON-SALEM, NC, June 10, 2003 - Perhaps it could be called the Texas "two-wheel step," but one thing is certain: fans will see a show filled with eight hundred horsepower when the Screamin' Eagle Nitro Harleys hit the quarter-mile dance floor at Texas Motorplex in Ennis, Texas.

AHDRA is making a first-time appearance at the Texas facility for the American IronHorse Lonestar Nitro Nationals Presented by Busch Beer on June 21st and 22nd, for the seventh stop of the fifteen-race National Points Series.

Competitors from the U.S. and Canada will compete for over $50,000 in cash and prizes - and with the series reaching the midway mark, the competition is heating up fast. Doug Vancil (Albuquerque, NM) is leading the points race in the 200 mph Screamin' Eagle Nitro Harley series and set a brand new MPH record of 217.25 in Norwalk, OH, but he will face fierce competition in Texas when local favorite Johnny Mancuso of Houston attempts to bring home the win for his hometown crowd. Mancuso's 2-bike race team includes Goshen, Ohio's Steve Stordeur, who currently holds the national E.T. record of 6.389. Other competitors expected to appear include Brian Jernigan (Spring, TX) and Mark Conner (Canyon Lake, TX) who set new records in the JIMS Pro Fuel category earlier in Norwalk, OH.

Entering its twenty-sixth year, AHDRA features sixteen classes of competition, including seven Pro classes and nine classes in the sportsman-street categories.

Leading off the weekend of excitement will be American IronHorse Motorcycle dealers Apache Motorcycles (Weatherford, TX) and Easyriders of Dallas (Dallas, TX) when they host AHDRA Kick Start parties at both locations on Friday, June 21, at 5:00 p.m.

On Saturday, racing gets under way at Texas Motorplex, with qualifying at 9:00 a.m. Sunday's Sportsman eliminations begin at 9:00 a.m. with Pro eliminations at 12:30 p.m.

Admission to the American IronHorse Lonestar Nitro Nationals Presented by Busch Beer is $40 for the weekend or $25 for single-day passes. H.O.G. members receive a $5 discount at the gate with a valid H.O.G. card, and children under 12 are admitted free.
