He'll have plenty of nitro-powered competition in the lanes at M.I.R. with Florida's Mike Lehman quickly climbing the charts and trailing Vancil by a slim 13-points in the national standings. Mike Romine of Sturgis, MI, Tracy Kile of Hatfield, PA and New Jersey's Drums Brancaccio are also very well seated to take the lead.
Lehman (H-D of W. Palm Beach Racing) is pulling double duty in nitro competition, coming off a huge two-category win in Seattle that gave him the 2nd place position in Top Fuel and has him sitting in the top spot in the JIMS Pro Fuel standings just ahead of the heavy-hitter from Ohio, Chris Streeter.
While those spectating at M.I.R. will get a rush from the horsepower and speed on the track, the racers adrenaline is driven by that desire for National Championship titles up for grabs in 15 classes of competition.
Racing gets underway on Saturday with qualifying at 11:00am. On Sunday, sportsman eliminations begin at 9:00am and the Pros take the track at 12:30pm.
