THE FASTEST TWO-WHEEL ACTION ON EARTH COMING TO BRISTOL DRAGWAY, AUGUST 8th, 9TH, AND 10TH FOR THE S & S CYCLE THUNDER IN THE VALLEY NATIONALS PRESENTED BY SMITH BROTHERS HARLEY-DAVIDSON

WINSTON-SALEM, NC, August 1, 2003 - AHDRA is gearing up for the biggest event of the year at the upcoming S & S Cycle Thunder in the Valley Nationals presented by Smith Brothers Harley-Davidson.

Last year's event at the premier facility nestled fifteen hundred feet in the Blue Ridge Mountains at Bristol, TN, hosted more than 10,000 fans, making it the largest event of the year. AHDRA predicts that this year's event at Bristol Dragway will surpass those numbers, with the top names in the sport on hand for nonstop excitement.

With elite sponsors on board, including S & S Cycle, there will be plenty for racers and fans to enjoy throughout the weekend. The staff of S & S Cycle will be on site with a huge display in "Manufacturers' Row" and plenty of T-shirts to toss into the grandstands.

Presenting sponsor Smith Brothers Harley-Davidson returns for another year of support. They will kick off the action early at the dealership (located at 2889 Hwy 11W, Blountville, TN) when they host the official AHDRA Kick Start Party on Friday, August 8, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Race fans can stop and meet the racers and get a peek at their nitro-burning machines. Screamin' Eagle Nitro Harley rider Mark "The Hammer" Cox from Wilkesboro, NC, will be on hand with his Bojangles/Crossroads HD ride along with former AHDRA Champion Steve Moore of Spartanburg, SC, and more.

Racing gets under way on Saturday with qualifying at 9:00 a.m.; on Sunday, sportsman eliminations begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by pro eliminations at 12 noon. Gates open both days at 8:00 a.m.

Admission to the S & S Cycle Thunder in the Valley Nationals is $40 for the weekend, with single-day passes for $25. Weekend passes include admission to Friday night's test-and-tune session from 5:00-9:00 p.m. H.O.G. members receive a $5 discount at the gate, and children under 12 are admitted free.

Weekend camping is available at Bristol Dragway starting on Friday, August 8, for an additional $25 and includes live entertainment on Saturday night featuring the Smyle Band.
