AHDRA ANNOUNCES NEW "HOT STREET" CLASS FOR 2003, SPONSORED BY DRAG MASTERS, INC.
WINSTON-SALEM, NC, December 17, 2002-The AHDRA has announced a brand new class for the 2003 season, adding to the 14 classes of competition already offered by the sanction, entering their 26th year of drag racing.
The "Hot Street" class, sponsored by Drag Master, Inc., is a "heads up" class, reserved for street legal Sportsters, Buells, Big Twins and production aftermarket motorcycles. They must have a valid registration and license tag (no dealer tags). The "Drag Master Hot Street" requirements include a bike and rider weight ratio of 8lbs per cubic inch and a maximum of 98 cubic inches. (Minimum weight at conclusion of run, including rider).
Willie Herschberger, owner of Drag Masters, Inc., says he is very excited about the opportunity to sponsor the new class. "Drag Masters, Inc. has an established reputation for promoting interest and participation in Harley-Davidson drag racing", Herschberger added.
"It is especially pleasing to me as a Harley drag racer to see us promoting a return to the purity of the sport. We will certainly apply our experience and expertise to the new relationship the AHDRA has afforded us".
AHDRA President, Craig Tharpe, says he and the staff are equally as pleased to form the relationship with Drag Master, Inc., while adding new and exciting competition on the track for both racers and fans.
The AHDRA National Points Series kicks off March 3rd in Gainesville, Florida.
