I don't know how many signed the petition but I count 3 that responded with a yes for allowing computers and 11 that responded on here that said no.

I know almost every one at Kansas with a pro mod did siged I am 100% for data loggers,I just purcased a one from Don @PR factory.I know how much i spend on parts $$$$$$ you can not aford not to have one the new RACE PAK sportsmen is very resonable. Also a data logger records information it does not control like a [computer]. Hank Stanton PM 9 Code:

The reality is most of us will be using data loggers in test and tune regardless of any rules changes. Unless the tech guys are inspecting bikes and trailers going into the grounds that is. The rules are good the way they are. The fact that you cannot use them during qualifying and eliminations levels the field somewhat on race day. All I will have to fall back on will be atmospheric conditions & track temperatures. Then its back to good old horse sense and experience both from a riders & tuners standpoint.

I forgot something. I think I said it before but, I think the rules are just fine as they are. Using a data logger in T&T is not illegal at this time so unless the powers to be decide that they are outright banned from all aspects of a meet then I think the rules should stay the same.

thats right donny ! i agree just look whats happening to the sellers of bikes in this class. we cant even get half of our invested $$$$$$$$$ back on a sale for a decent running 8 second pro mod bike. now more $$$$$$$ doent make sense to me either. right now i cant make enough to support racing on my own . without no sponsors in a weak economy and low payouts and sometimes bad turnouts forget theres hardly any work out here too. ironhead

By definition from Wikipedia

Cheating is an act of lying, deception, fraud, trickery, imposture, or imposition. - - I'm not lying when I say that I am going to use one in T&T

Cheating characteristically is employed to create an unfair advantage, usually in one's own interest, and often at the expense of others, --- You got me there if I were the only one doing it, but at least I'm honest and saying that I am doing it unlike the true cheaters who hide it.

It all fun and games till somebody gets hurt.

Depends on your definition of 'enrty level'. Everyone has a budget. I had the money to have Steve Allstaedt build the motor to the rulebook...that meant I had $200 to build the frame after buying the D&G swingarm. Guess what? It kicked all those race chassis' butts. The Daytona A/F sensors I used were cheap and allowed per the rulebook...all you do is remove them on race day...can't get any easier than that.

Everyone can start out with the same pile of parts but it's how you assemble them that matters. But since it's not done like that everyone builds what they think will work. The same cam that worked in my bike may not work in another set-up...in fact no one was running S&S Pro Stock cases except me...they are heavier than all others but I needed to weigh 650 lbs because I had a 113ci 4 cam motor, so it was no big deal. When you have to weigh the most, you need to produce more HP to keep up with the lighter packages...this goes back to the 'how it's all assembled' thing.

You still have to fine tune it to run fast, have to react to the tree to run fast...have to push the shift button at the right time to run fast...don't expect to run fast if you sit on the bike like you do at the dining room table...aerodynamics is a big thing from the 1/8 mile to the finish line now...it's heads up racing so don't be looking in the other lane, you're racing the clock and yourself.

In racing, some people follow the rules, some break the rules. You can always have someone's motor torn down to see if they are cheating.
Greg
