Tom Caldwell Racing/Old Guys Do Rule Racing Camp - Things Are Rocking
August 31, 2012
Dana Eckhardt and Caldwell have been busy working with new sponsor HogScrap Brands. We're planning upcoming appearances at area events. Our next appearance is Sept. 15th at Tellico Plains, TN.
We pretty excited about a couple of Easy Rider shows and other events to be announced soon.
Caldwell says, "I have disassembled the bike as usual and freshened up everything in preparation of the points chase to the final race at No Problem Raceway in Louisiana. We went out last Saturday to practice and tweaked my clutch setup to get my 60’s back down - mission accomplished. Still trying to find repair parts for my race trailer (results of home bound Norwalk trip accident). The trailer company went bankrupt and parts are very "limited."
"I was very pleased with our performance at Bristol with the corrected elevation at 5000 ft. I ran an 8.24 @ 159.93, exceptional under those conditions. The front half of the track offered minimal performance due to the LACK of oxygen that weekend. Everyone struggled to find better 60 foot times. BTW, I reset and backed up, the track MPH record at Bristol at 159.93. I have finally recovered from the late leave (reaction time) at Bristol practically giving the race away. I've surmised that the 10 pm final and dew were my nemesis. I apologize to all who assist me and support my effort! THIS WILL NOT HAPPEN AGAIN!". Go get 'em, Tom.
